Hojicha Ko - Ceremonial Grade from Wazuka, Uji-Kyoto - Summer Harvest

Sale price€26,00

Size:

Kō () means "fragrance" or "aroma" in Japanese. This roasted tea from Wazuka, Uji-Kyoto, carries the scent of hazelnuts and caramel – warm, comforting, irresistible.

When there's too much matcha.

Hōjicha is what happens when Japanese tea masters decide that not every moment requires wakefulness. They take sencha or bancha, roast it over charcoal at high heat – and transform it into something completely different.

Kō comes from Wazuka, Uji, and uses three cultivars: Okumidori, Samidori, and Yabukita. The roasting process develops aromas of roasted hazelnuts and deep caramel – warm, comforting, with a sweetness that doesn't come from sugar but from the Maillard reaction of the leaves themselves.

The best part? Virtually caffeine-free. The heat breaks down the caffeine. What remains is pure comfort. Perfect for evenings, for moments when you need warmth without the energy, or when you simply want to drink something good without the consequences.

A tea that embraces.
